Inspiration for Pixar’s animated movie “Cars”

Nestled along historic Route 66, Peach Springs, Arizona, serves as the real-world inspiration for the fictional town of Radiator Springs in Pixar’s beloved animated film Cars.

The Real Story Behind Radiator Springs

When the creative team at Pixar Animation Studios traveled along Route 66 researching small desert towns, they drew inspiration from communities like Peach Springs. The town’s historic charm, scenic desert landscapes, classic roadside motels, and deep connection to Route 66 culture helped shape the personality and atmosphere of Radiator Springs.
Much like Radiator Springs in the film, Peach Springs represents the heart of America’s Mother Road, a place rich in history, community spirit, and timeless character.
